Tallies

Room 24 have been learning that we can record amounts not only as a number but also as a Tally.
We have been making them, reading them and recording them as a number.

Bar Graphs

We took a handful of Maths equipment, sorted it, grouped it and made it into a simple bar graph. We then compared it and talked about our findings. We used words like the same as, more than or less than.

Selfie's

Room 24 used the iPad for the first time in this class by taking a photo of themselves. These were glued onto an outline and a long white straw was taped to the back so that everyone had their own selfie stick. We wondered around the class with them telling each other about things we like.
For next time we would lift the iPad up a little so that our eyes aren't always looking down.

David goes to school

Mrs Dijkstra read us several stories about a boy called David who didn't make good choices when he went to school. We talked about this and made a list of how we would like  Room 24 children to be at school. We made a poster of our ideas. Alexandra and Drake's looked gorgeous and thoughtful.

Today we choose a buddy and worked as a team to search and find pictures. It was another fun icebreaker activity. We were fantastic finders!!

Jellybean Icebreaker

Today was our first day back to school for 2017. We are now year 2's and in Room 24. To help get to know one another we had an icebreaker activity where we selected a coloured jellybean that matched a colour coded sentence. We read the sentence and then completed it by telling about ourselves.
 e.g: In my family is.... In the hols I .... I am good at..... I like to play....
